How the practice is built

Biophic is deliberately small. The practice is led by a principal whose background combines doctoral training in biophysics with management consulting, and that combination is the whole premise: the person who reads the primary evidence is the same person who builds the commercial argument on top of it.

Large firms staff these engagements in layers — a scientific adviser who reads the data, an engagement manager who writes the deck, a partner who presents it. Each handoff loses fidelity, and the version that reaches the board is usually two translations away from the evidence. We removed the layers instead of trying to manage them.

The practical consequence is that we take on a small number of clients at a time and decline work outside the four areas we do well. If a question sits outside that, we will tell you at the introductory call rather than three weeks into an engagement.

Who we work with

Our clients are pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies — typically management teams, commercial leads, and corporate development groups at organisations moving an asset toward or through commercialisation. We also work with corporate acquirers and licensing partners evaluating a specific asset.

We work with organisations. Biophic has no consumer or patient-facing services of any kind.

Every engagement operates under a mutual non-disclosure agreement executed before any material is exchanged. We do not name clients or describe engagements publicly, which is why you will not find a case study section on this site.
